How we work

Most of our jobs come from people who had a bad experience with a contractor who did not show up, did not finish, or did not say what it would cost. We built the business around not being that.

Sam is on site. Quotes are in writing. If something behind a wall changes the plan, you hear about it that day, with options and prices, before anything is done about it. And when we say a job is finished, it is clean and it is right.

What we do

We work on houses. Hemken Construction is a Florida Certified Residential Contractor, which covers residential renovations, remodels, additions, and new home construction.

We are hands-on builders, not project managers who sub everything out. Framing, decks, trim, drywall, flooring, doors, windows, siding, and paint are done by our own crew. Plumbing and electrical are done by licensed trades we have worked with for years and stand behind.

Insurance and licensing

General liability insurance is carried on every job. We will send a certificate of insurance on request before work starts. Our license is Florida Certified Residential Contractor number CRC1333969, and you can check it yourself against the state register rather than taking our word for it.

Our specialty

Finish carpentry and decks. Both are work where the details show, where a clean miter or a properly flashed ledger is the difference between a job that looks good on day one and a job that still looks good in ten years. That standard carries into everything else we do.
